Time Line of Events

Who Can Apply?

The SBS Venture Fund considers investments in applicants in any geography and any industry who 1.) have an Oxford Connection, and 2.) are seeking early stage financing.

An Oxford Connection requires at least one team member to be:
- Students or alumni of The University of Oxford
- Members of Oxford groups or clubs
- SGEC finalists who have partnered with a member of The University of Oxford

Process

1. Application
Upload your four-page executive summary by 5pm GMT March 24, 2012.

2. Qualifying Round
Successful applicants are notified by April 2, 2012 and asked to submit a detailed investor deck by 5pm GMT April 16, 2012.

3. Semi-finalists
The Committee reviews submissions and notifies semi-finalists by April 23, 2012.
Semi-finalists will be invited to the University of Oxford in June 2012* to pitch to the Committee.

4. Finalists
The Committee will select finalist applicants for the final round. Finalists will participate in a one-day coaching seminar  to finalize their pitches, before pitching directly to Sir Philip Green and David Bonderman in the annual SBS Venture Fund Competition in June 2012*.

5. Due Diligence & Investments
Investments are made in June 2012 after due diligence. The number of investments varies each year depending on the investment opportunities. We may choose to not invest, or invest in several businesses in a given year.
